Dinesh Hansraj

Dinesh Hansraj is a dedicated tabla player and student with over 19 years of experience, nurtured by a strong musical upbringing. He began his training under Shrimati Rachna Mehra of the Benaras Gharana and continues to study under the respected tabla maestro Pandit Nishikant Barodekar, a senior disciple of the legendary Ustad Allah Rakha.

Throughout the years, Dinesh has had the privilege of performing in a variety of settings—from classical concerts and cultural festivals to charitable and community-driven events. His playing reflects both a respect for tradition and an openness to collaborative exploration, having worked alongside vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers across diverse styles.

In addition to performing, Dinesh is passionate about teaching and sharing the joy of tabla with others. He offers lessons to students of all ages and backgrounds, aiming to pass on the values of discipline, creativity, and cultural appreciation through music.

Outside of the classroom and stage, Dinesh is involved in community arts initiatives that use music as a tool for connection and dialogue. His focus remains on continued learning, service to the art form, and helping to ensure that the beauty of Indian classical music continues to inspire future generations.
